This site presents a great cantor practicing his art "b'leyv
vo-ne-fesh" (with heart and soul). He is Cantor Murray (Moshe) Bazian
(pronounced Batsian) chanting the classical recitative
(cantorial solo)
"V'nir'eyhu Ayin B'ayin ... Av Horachamim Hu Y'racheym Am Amusim" in a
live concert held at Congregation Etz Chaim of
Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY, on June 5, 1983.
This is the most compelling website that I personally have ever
visited.
The audio is inspiring. This cantor's coloratura is among the
most magnificent I've
ever heard. But to me, the video aspect is even more
captivating.
Every time I log on to the website below, and observe this cantor's
saintly face and his gesticulations, I am moved to tears. Perhaps this
is because the cantor's characteristically European mien reminds me of
the all-too-quickly vanishing holy people - such as my own beloved
father ע׳׳ה - who were born in the Jewish shtetl of pre-war Eastern
Europe.
If you seek a truly spiritually-uplifting experience, then look
no further than the links below:
To watch the video of Cantor Bazian chanting V'Nireihu Ayin
B'Ayin and Av HoRachamim Hu Y'Racheim Am Amusim, click
on audio-video.
To listen to just the audio alone, click on audio
alone.
You can also click on chazzan.org
for Cantor Bazian's biography, and to hear other recordings of his
chanting.
