On February 27, 2003,
Rabbi Naftali Horowitz of Manhattan Midrash delivered at a class in our
shul what I consider
the greatest lecture that I've ever
attended.
From this lecture you will learn little-known details of many fascinating aspects of Judaism - including the origin of the Kabbalah, secrets of the Tree of Knowledge (located in the Garden of Eden), the true nature of ancient idol worship (yes, the idols did indeed talk!), the magical aspects of the Golden Calf (this idol actually jumped out of the fire, while singing and dancing!), how Adam's grandson Enosh used the mystical powers of Kabbalistic "Sheymos Kedoshim" (Holy Divine Names) to force angels to do his bidding, how Moses used Sheymos Kedoshim to kill the Egyptian task-master, how the Vilner Gaon offered to use Sheymos Kedoshim to save the Ger Tzedek (Graf Pototzki) from being burned at the stake in 1749 (the Ger Tzedek turned down the offer, preferring to die Al Kiddush HaShem), and more. This is a 20MB mp3 file, and it plays for over 52 minutes, so a high-speed (broadband, DSL or Cable) connection is recommended. To hear an audio clip of this lecture, click here. |
